Who’s the liquify junkie working for Ralph Lauren?
Obviously Ralph Lauren’s retouchers are suffering from some serious “Photoshop Liquify” addictions of late.
Liquify is a great tool for getting rid of bumps in clothes, giving a bit of shape to odd body angles or just to make an image more aesthetic. But in the wrong hands it can be a disaster, proven by two Ralph Lauren ads that have been in circulation of late.

The beautiful Filippa Hamilton looks like one of those “Bratz dolls” in this retouch with her head almost bigger that her body and arms that now resemble rubber bands!

Valentina Zelyaeva in this shot just looks odd! With such a dramatic change to her midsection (especially from the screen left of the shot) it makes her shoulders look huge. Her screen left hand is suffering a bit of swelling also from the excessive liquify.
Seriously how does this all get approved?
You would never find work like this coming from Retouch. We just wouldn’t allow it.
This is Art Directors combined with retouchers working for a pittance:
